ibikelondon's Christmas cycling gift directory

Christmas has crept so incredibly close that if you're anything like me you're now cowering in the knowledge that it is getting later by the day to complete your Christmas shopping and you may yet end up doing a mercy dash along Oxford Street for, say, an ice cube tray, along with half a million other desperate shoppers on the 24th of December...

But don't panic because it's not yet too late to buy excellent cycling Christmas gifts for the two wheeled fan in your life, to buy them online AND still support London's cycling scene and keep your money local.
Here's ibikelondon's last minute Christmas gift directory...
Consider yourself saved!

Lost Lanes by Jack Thurston

We first reviewed this extraordinary book by thebikeshow's Jack Thurston on its release earlier this year.  Since then we've spent many happy hours pouring over the lush photography dreaming of future cycling plans, not to mention riding some of the incredible routes on offer; from a traffic-free spin around East London to long weekends away in the beautiful Suffolk rolling countryside, or long rides out to the end of the Thames.  There isn't a cyclist in London who should be without this fabulous tome of perfect cycling adventures.

£14.99 directly from Jack's website (that way he keeps more of the profit)

Look Mum No Hands bobble hat

Like wheels, what goes around comes around, and this season's must have trend for your bonce is the perfect example!  No sartorially-minded cycling afictionado should be seen without a retro-style bobble hat this winter, and what better bobble hat could you buy than this tea cosey-esque offering from cycling coffee purveyors Look Mum No Hands! of Old Street?
Looks good, on trend, and keep your ears warm.  Tidy.

£25 via the LMNH website, or available in store at 49 Old Street.

ANYTHING from the CycleLux online gift shop

Our friends James and Fiona from that aesthetics's Aladdin's cave of everything bicycle CycleLove have launched an online gift shop, CycleLux, offering unique and beautiful bicycle bits that you just won't find anywhere else.

From the fabulous deer head bicycle racks to EPO coffee beans, if we had been very, very good this year we'd hope Santa might bring us anything from this online emporium for Christmas.

Do we like this Duane Dalton No Limitations t-shirt very much? Yes we very do.

Vulpine Christmas bundles

Bicycle apparel start up Vulpine.CC have gone from strength to strength over the past year.  Uniquely offering fabulously high quality but cool and comfortable clothing, matched with a sense of fun; their free public events are always beyond awesome, as evidenced by their Christmas fundraising fete in E2 yesterday.

Captained by founder Nick Hussey and abley assisted by his (ridiculously photogenic) crew, the product range has improved and expanded throughout the year, and here at ibikelondon we think the Christmas gift bundles packaging the best bits of the collection together are a sinch.  Two Merino t-shirt bundle for £95. Yes please.  An ultimate rain bundle for handling the worse than winter will throw at you? Even better.

The whole range is available online and - wonder of wonders - they offer NEXT DAY DELIVERY! Hallelujah.

Visit vulpine.cc or check the goods out in person at these stockists.

Bicycle hot water bottle

It's a hot water bottle.
With a knitted cover with a bicycle on it.

Not that we're going to be spending more time this winter indoors reading about riding as oppose to actually getting out there and doing it, but, you know, it's cold, so yes please.

£9.90 from bike-themed gift stockists Cyclemiles.co.uk

London Cycling Campaign gift membership

Does your other half worry about you riding to work and make you text them to say when you've got to the office safely?  Do you sometimes wish that London was a more cyclised city?  Well, thankfully there's a fabulous campaigning group that does all the worrying for you in the shape of the wonderful London Cycling Campaign, and this Christmas they're offering fabulous gift memberships.
Not only do you get bicycle campaigning peace of mind, you'll also receive the fantastic London Cyclist magazine, discounts at local bike shops, free 3rd party insurance and 3 public liability insurance and a suite of fun and varied led bike rides throughout the year.

For just £36 a year, what's not to like?

So there you have it, all of your cycling Christmas shopping in one place, without even having to step foot on Oxford Street (there's nowhere to lock up your bike anyway.)  You're welcome!
